The overhung arrangement has a tapered drive shaft and spigot interface as standard, to ensure concentricity. Once attached to the machine drive shaft it becomes, in effect, a continuation of the shaft, thus eliminating the use of a coupling and possible coupling fatigue and failure.
The unique flange/flange fixing of the overhung assembly allows the fixing and installation to be connected, aligned and run concentric without any setting.
The disconnection and refitting of this assembly will take only a few minutes with minimum disruption to associated machines.
Two uniball backlass free, track rod end bearings swivel joints opposed at 90° allow for radial and axial movement of the machine drive shaft of up to +/- 10mm. A torque arm stops the unit from rotating. The tie rod which is bolted to either motor frame or foundations is manufactured to suit customer requirements.
