Content
The Broderick Projects centrifugal overspeed switch is a speed responsive preset mechanical device which is factory set at the customer’s required overspeed trip setting, and in the event of an overspeed occurance a spring loaded plunger operates a stay put heavy duty micro switch which is connected into the safety circuit to stop the machine.

Enclosure
The body of the enclosure is manufactured from aluminium alloy, in a modular construction to incorporate the overspeed device and transducer interface. Sealed compartments are to industrial IP65 standard. The construction will allow the overspeed device to run in conjunction with either speed and/or position feedback transducers (electrical specification to suit customer requirements) i.e. resolvers, pulse encoders, tacho generators.

Switch
An aluminium switch housing provides a lever operated stay put switch with two contacts (N/O N/C), a manual plunger is provided for resetting of the overspeed switch.

Speed Adjustment
The overspeed trip setting is factory set to customer requirement, usually +15% of normal operating speed.

On all overspeed assemblies the aluminium switch housing provides a lever operated stay-put switch with two contacts N/O N/C rated 240V 1.5A. A manual reset plunger is provided on the outermost side of the housing.

The overspeed trip setting is factory set to customer requirement, usually +15% of normal operating speed.
